Speech Class

I am in Speech class that is taught by Mrs. Bauermeister at Pierce High. I am taking Speech because I want to get better at talking in front of other people. I know that I have to make speeches in the future so I want to be good at it. I am not the best at making speeches, but I feel that I am getting better at it now that I am in Speech. I am learning how to make better speeches and how to present speeches. Speech class is fun most of the time because your not constantly doing work, and it is not serious all the time. Plus, I get a lot of time to do my homework so I usually don't have to do a lot of work at home. The people in my class make speech fun, but sometimes that can be a bad thing. Currently, I am doing an informative speech over M&M's.

MY FAVORITE SPORT

My favorite sport would have to be Track. Anyone can do track because there are a lot of events in track that people can do. The field events are pole vault, long jump, high jump, discus, shot, and triple jump. The running events are the 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 4 x 100, 4 x 400, and the 4 x 800. Last year I ran in the 4 x 800 and in the 800 meter run because I am better at running longer distances. I also competed in pole vault. I medaled a lot last year in the 4 x 800 and once in pole vault. I also like track because your not only striving to medal yourself, but to win overall as a team. This year in track I want to get faster and improve my time.

Our School Computers

At Pierce High, every student gets a laptop to help them with learning. Some people like them, and other people don't like them. Sometimes the computers are very nice, but other times they are a nuisance. I like the idea of having them, but you can't do a lot with them. A lot of the stuff on the computer is blocked because some of the students play games during school or other stuff like that. I use my computer a lot because I am in classes where they are needed. I have heard though that some kids really don't use their computers except for checking announcements or their grades. I guess the computers are helpful and make things easier so I would say having them is a good idea.

My One Wish

If I had one wish, I really would not know what to do with it. I would probably spend forever trying to think of the perfect wish. I probably would wish that I would have the perfect life I could have. That probably would sum up all of the other wishes into one wish. If I had a perfect life, I probably would be rich, have a good job, have a nice big house with a bunch of cars and a boat, and have other stuff like that. I would live out my life on earth happy, and I would not have to worry about anything ever again.

Favorite Book

One of my favorite book has to be the seventh Harry Potter book called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows created by J.K. Rowling. I liked it because it tied up the whole entire Harry Potter Series. I like knowing why things happened and knowing a lot about the characters in the stories. I thought the book also had a great ending. Another one of my favorite books is Earthbound by Orson Scott Card. He writes a lot of science fiction books, and science fiction is my favorite genre. This book is also in a series that talks about people on a different planet trying to get back to earth. This book is my favorite out of the series because it is the most exciting one.

Pierce High's School Lunches

Pierce's school lunches are sometimes questionable. Some of the food makes you wonder what's even in it. For instance, the pizza burger they served us yesterday looked really weird. I didn't get to eat it though because I had to diet for wrestling. There is some good food though. The fiestadas are very good and are probably one of my favorite school lunches. Another problem with the school lunches is that they sometimes don't even feed us enough food. They will only give us an entree and two other things. If they would just give us more good food, I don't think anyone would complain about lunch.

My Favorite Class

My favorite class was last year's band class. I was able to hang out with my friends every day, and in band you don't have any homework. It's also fun to make music. When I get done with a song, I feel like I have accomplished something. I also get study time in band so if I need extra time doing my homework I can do it during study hall. Because I did band last year, I was able to go on the band trip to Chicago. Going to Chicago was really fun.

After High School

I plan to go to college after high school. I'm not sure what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want to go into the medical field. In the medical field, I want to become some kind of doctor because I like helping people and making a lot of money. If I can't do that, I'll probably try to become some kind of engineer. My future after high school is open right now since I don't know what I'm going to be.

Obama's Inauguration

Barack Obama was inaugurated today. When he was giving his speech, you could see that it was really cold outside because you could see his breath. It probably felt even colder to him because he was wearing just a suit. The speech I thought was long, but I usually don't listen to speeches. He covered a lot of main points about today's problems. The crowd was really excited I think when Obama talked. I think Obama is very good at delivering speeches.

Galveston, Texas

My favorite place that I have visited is Galveston, Texas. My family and I got to see the Gulf of Mexico. It was my first time seeing an ocean. It was really fun swimming in the ocean with the waves, but stepping on unknown things in the water was kind of scary. At the hotel, my dad would throw bread up at the seagulls, and the seagulls would surround us. We did a lot of sight-seeing and wandering around in Galveston. We had a fun time visiting Galveston.

MY FAVORITE BAND?

I really don't have a favorite band, but I do listen to some music. My top bands are Linkin Park, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Three Days Grace, Boys Like Girls. I can't list ten bands because I don't listen to a lot of music.

MY GOALS

My goal for this week is to place at the wrestling invite at Battle Creek. My goal for this month is to win at least once in every wrestling tournament I go to. My goal for this term is to get all A's in my classes at school. Another goal of mine is to get a job this summer to prepare myself for college.

Infomercials

I think infomercials are funny to watch sometimes. The people on them always have that funny look on their face. It's really funny to watch the ones that sell products that are suppose to make your life easier like the Magic Bullet. It is pretty much a blender with a different name on it. I don't know if I would spend that much money to get something that I could get at the store. The funniest thing though on every infomercial is when they say that if you call and order one now you can get another one for free.

ME

This is my second day of blogging, and I have added a picture of me. The picture doesn't look that good because I am bad at taking pictures. I'm still not excited about doing this, but I want to pass this assignment so I will do it anyway. I am tired today and feel like going to bed. I am also very hungry right now.

Why I Do This?

My name is Logan Sudbeck, and I am a sophmore in High School. I am blogging because it is an assignment that I have to do so I will be blogging for awhile. I will be participating in the 30-Day Challenge. I have to blog every day for the next 30 days. I am not looking forward to this because it sounds like a lot of work.
